Master The Mask Puzzle Fast - Onimusha Guide
Today I'm sharing my experience, to be honest, when I first started the What Lurks In The Shadow quest in Onimusha: Way Of The Sword.
So, seeing the creepy atmosphere of the underground lair at that time, I was getting complete Resident Evil vibes. I was very scared.
As I made my way through the narrow hallways, slicing through grotesque enemies. Everything was going smoothly, but then I reached the Mask Room.
I was completely stunned at that moment. I saw that all four masks were hanging and the cage was locked.
I shot arrows at random, trying every combination, but nothing happened.
I was so angry and sad that I felt like my entire progress had come to a halt because of a small puzzle. I felt like I was banging my head against a wall.
It's absolutely true that I'm not one to give up. I thought for a while, and then, after two hours, I cooled down.
And then I deeply observed every corner of the room, and then I noticed the secret light shadows behind the mask.
And as soon as I understood the real trick of the shadow, I cannot describe the joy and peace I felt at that moment.
Then I solved the puzzle in one go and took out the key of the boss room.
So, today I'll share my entire emotional journey and the formula for solving this puzzle in one fell swoop. It's a new secret trick I've discovered.
The Mask Puzzle: How I Figured Out The Secret
The biggest mistake I made in the beginning was that I was shooting while looking at the mask from the front. To be honest, then when I used my brain a little, I understood the real game:
Look At The Shadows: All you have to do is go to the back side of the room where the masks are mounted on the windows.
And then when seen from the other side, their shadows fall on the ground and walls.
Count The Holes: My experience is that you should not consider shadows as human faces, you should just look at them as round objects which have holes in them.
I think each mask's shadow has a different number of face parts/holes. These numbers tell you the correct order of shooting.
The Final Shooting Order: To be honest, I figured out the exact order of the shadows. Shoot the masks with bows in the sequence from left to right: Three - Four - One - Two (3 - 4 - 1 - 2).
Unlocking The Boss Room & Finishing The Quest
One more thing, as soon as I shot in the order 3-4-1-2, the cage got unlocked instantly.
And then I found a new mask inside, which opened the main door to the boss room. The quest after that was pretty straightforward:
- First of all, go to the Boss room and hide Genma.
- Now you finish it by cutting its end boss with your sword.
- Then, return to Kyoto and continue the rest of your Onimusha business.
My Pro Advice: Don't worry at all. Now listen to me, first of all, count the shadows, shoot 3-4-1-2, and then rule the world of Onimusha.
