Vampirism Perks & Ultimate Unlocks: It is my experience that all three Ultimate abilities are unlocked as soon as you reach Corruption Level 15.

Hastened Corruption Perk: I first unlocked the Hastened Corruption perk. Trust me, it increases Corruption gains by 30% initially and 50% at max upgrade.

Feeding On NPCs (Knockout Method): It is absolutely true that you should use the Hold button while feeding on non-hostile NPCs.
You know what, I have seen that, leave it on the first icon so that it is only Knockout and not Kill.
Sabotage Missions & Boss Drain: It is my experience that you consume blood barrels in Sabotage missions instead of destroying them.
So I have noticed that this gives a lot of Corruption at once. My secret advice is to always choose the Drain option at the end of boss fights.
My Pro Advice: First of all, don't worry about it. The Second thing is, stop being afraid of the Corruption meter.
